About Me
Hello, my name is Kierstyn Heilbrun and I am the owner and founder of More Than Cotton!
I learned how to crochet when I was nine years old and instantly fell in love with the art. During my sophomore year of college at Boise State University in 2020, I crocheted myself a halter top for the summer and started making them for friends. I decided to start selling them as a side hustle to get me through school, but it quickly became my passion. I now live in Nashville, Tennessee and am a full time crochet artist, designer, and teacher!
When I started More Than Cotton, my focus was designing and crocheting custom halter tops for ALL bodies that empower, inspire confidence, and encourage creativity. This is still a main focus for me, but I have now branched out from the tops and create sets and other accessories as well. I also offer many of my patterns for my fellow crocheters! It has been so fun to share these and see what the community creates with them.
I have always had a passion for teaching as well, and for the last couple of years have been able to blend both of my passions. I offer individual crochet lessons, group classes, and I also do crochet programs in local schools in my community. This last year, I released an online beginner crochet course and began to do virtual lessons with people all over the country as well. It has been amazing to expand my community and connect with people of all crochet levels and ages.
I am beyond grateful for this life that I live as a full time crocheter, and couldn’t have built More Than Cotton to what it is today without the love and support from friends, family, and my online community. Thank you for being here on this journey with me!
